Thank you for coming to my blog.
I never saw myself as someone who would start a blog, but as life changes your outlooks change as well.
I was born and raised in Northern Colorado.
My journey in life started in October of 1986.
For as long as I can remember I have tried to live life to the fullest.
Making sure I do what I want and what makes me happy.
I've met incredible people along this journey and have learned something from each and everyone of them.
In January of 2014 I found something that I didn't know would change the rest of my life, and this is where my blog begins.
I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I'm creating this blog for me to be able to get some things off my chest (no pun intended). I'm also hoping that my support system will be able to come here for some comfort of their own in being able to keep up with the daily changes. Additionally I'm hoping that I can help someone else through the journey as I talk about my own if they get the unfortunate call that I received in March, 2014.
You don't know me as I worked at "Pace" with your mom back in the day. I can remember you running around when you were little and being the light of your mom's eye! It seems as though you have grown up to be a smart, strong girl with a beautiful voice in more ways then one. Stay that way and don't let this journey take anything from you!!! Kick it's ass! If you ever want something different to do we own 8 horses, sometimes just grooming them is therapy for me:) Come out and see us. Tell your mom hello and I'm thinking of her too, Love Amy

ReplyDeleteThanx!
DeleteYou don't know me either, but I'm a shirttail cousin from Wyoming. So disheartening to get that kind of news, but keep your head held high and keep looking up. You will be in my prayers and I'll be here to read your blogs. Thank you so much for sharing. It makes things easier to deal with if someone will "share" your feelings with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for following along with me through this journey!
DeleteI stumbled on your blog through a FB post from my Grandma Jan. Your story has touched my heart. I will be praying for God to give you strength and healing through this journey.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo far so good, each day brings something different, but I'm learning a lot!
I live nearby, in the Victorian Gables neighborhood on the north side of Rossborough Park, whose west border is Dunbar. I saw your post on the Nextdoor web site. I had breast cancer in 2011. The tumor was small, surgery got it all without having to mess with lymph nodes, and I didn't need chemo or radiation afterwards. I was so overwhelmed with all the love that was poured out on me during that vulnerable time that I wrote a book about it, "It's Okay to Be Me." You can check out my author web site and blog at www.itsokaytobeme.com. I would love to bring you a copy of my book. Email me at grange@q.com and let's get acquainted!
ReplyDeleteFelicia, We were so sad to hear of your news, but being the feisty woman you are I know you will beat this unwanted visitor!! We'll be praying for you and following your blog. Please let us know if there is anything we can do-dog walking, bringing meals, house cleaning etc. Take care of yourself and know we are thinking of you.
